Sergio Garcia among three co-leaders at LIV Golf Miami

Spanish professional golfer Sergio Garcia, along with Talor Gooch and Peter Uihlein, shot a bogey-free, 5-under 67 to lead the standings at LIV Golf Miami. They are just one shot ahead of four other players at 4-under 68. Garcia, a seasoned player at 44, has transitioned from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf but is yet to secure a win on this new circuit. Despite being close a few times, including in a playoff at the Mayakoba season opener, Garcia remains determined to keep giving himself chances.

With the Masters approaching, Garcia and 12 other LIV players are preparing to head to Augusta National. Finding form and gaining confidence in Miami could be beneficial for the upcoming prestigious tournament. Gooch, who does not have an exemption into the Masters, is also focused on shooting good scores to work his way towards qualification. Meanwhile, Uihlein’s team has taken a strong lead in the team competition.

Rahm, the defending Masters champion, also had a solid start to the tournament with a 3-under 69, along with several other major champions. The competition remains fierce as players strive for success in preparation for the Masters and beyond.
