The London Golf Club is preparing to host the first ever London Golf Club G4D Shield event in August, welcoming up to 60 of the world’s best golfers with disabilities to compete over 36 holes on its International Course. This event marks the first time an EDGA event will be held at the venue since 2021.

As part of the event buildup, the club has partnered with EDGA to promote inclusivity and accessibility for golfers with disabilities in the wider Kent region. They have provided coaching to the club’s PGA professional to ensure that they are equipped to offer lessons to golfers with disabilities, with free golf lessons now available to local children and adults with disabilities.

The London Golf Club has a strong commitment to community involvement, supporting initiatives such as donating to food banks and partnering with charities like Demelza. The club’s director of golf, Ben Stimson, expressed excitement about welcoming EDGA back to the venue and highlighted the importance of offering free lessons to those with disabilities who have an interest in golf.

With less than six months to go before the event, an EDGA preliminary team visited the club to ensure that all players, regardless of their limitations, can fully enjoy the experience. Tony Bennett, president of EDGA, praised the enthusiasm of the London Golf Club team and expressed his excitement for the upcoming event.

London Golf Club is actively seeking volunteers for the event and encourages anyone interested to reach out for more information. The club’s dedication to making golf accessible to players of all backgrounds and their partnership with EDGA exemplify their commitment to diversity and inclusivity in the sport.
