Latest Iteration Of “The Match” Announced

Woods & McIlroy Against Speith & Thomas is on!

It’s been a little more than a year since Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy faced off against Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth in “The Match,” but the two golfing giants will be back at it again this November.

Woods and McIlroy have announced that they will be facing off against Thomas and Spieth in the latest iteration of the high-profile event, which is set to take place on November 23rd. This will be Woods’ third appearance in “The Match,” participating in the inaugural event against Phil Mickelson in November of 2018 and returning in 2020 to team up with Peyton Manning to take down Mickelson and Tom Brady in a charity challenge.

McIlroy, meanwhile, is making his debut in the event. He’s coming off a strong year on the golf course, having won two major championships – the British Open and the PGA Championship – and finishing as the runner-up at both the Masters Tournament and the U.S. Open.

Thomas is also coming into this year’s match on a high note, having won five tournaments in 2019, including the prestigious WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. As for Spieth, he had a somewhat disappointing year by his standards but still managed to win two tournaments and finish second at another three.

This year’s match is sure to be exciting, with all four players being among the best in the world. It remains to be seen who will come out on top, but it’s sure to be a close contest.
